TAGV and Coimbra University Press hosted the launch of Ensaios Ruminantes – Sobre a Obra Performativa de Patricia Portela [Ruminating Essays – On Patricia Portela’s Performative Work], organized by Fernando Matos Oliveira and Thiago Arrais. This volume, which brings together a dozen essays, documentation, photographs and an interview, is a joint reflection on the work of a creator who has covered countless registers, formats and languages. Patrícia Portela has been crossing borders and territories for two decades, in continuous creative movement, as a costume and set designer, stage director, creator of a major set of performative installations and recognized writer. The collective authorship of this volume is a response to Portela’s heterodox work, taking a plural reading, in dialogue with the challenges posed by the work of an artist who seeks to leave her mark on the history of performing arts in Portugal.
The launch, chaired by Rui Pina Coelho (CET-FLUL), included the organisers of the volume, Fernando Matos Oliveira and Thiago Arrais, who presented the work.
Venue: Room 10.1, FLUL (1st floor)
