This conference presented the results of the research project - Teatro Proibido e Censurado em Portugal no séc. XIX – undertaken by CET researchers and financed by the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation.​

The database was presented, showing the set of opinions issued on the theatre texts put before the 19th century censorship bodies (mainly the Censura Teatral, the Conselho Dramático and the Inspecção Geral dos Teatros). The papers of the participating scholars all dealt with various aspects of this theme.
