On February 18, 2024, at Casa Brasil in Lisbon, Diego Esteves, a Brazilian artist and doctoral student in the Postgraduate Program in Education at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, and Paola Vasconcelos, a doctor and artist who collaborates with the Centre of Theatre Studies at the University of Lisbon, will present the lecture-performance Caosmologia: potential bodies and dance technologies. In this scenic arrangement, in a lecture that deals with chaos as a potential for creation, dance emerges as a technology capable of producing potential bodies that resist a certain normalization in favour of the characteristic unpredictability of life, by dancing it. Afterwards, the audience is invited to take part in a workshop and experiment, through Paola Vasconcelos’ research into queer social dancing and Diego Esteves’ proposals for dance improvisation and juggling, with possibilities for creation that call on chaos to create other modes of existence. This activity requires no previous experience in dance or juggling and is open to the whole community.
