Choreo-somatics of Resting Dissidence | 7-11 February, 2023 | Tanzquartier, Vienna
Poetry without Poets #1 is the first chapter of ‘Institute of Rest(s), an artistic research project designed by Alix Eynaudi with the support of Paula Caspão (associate researcher), lead at the Manufacture of Lausanne, Hes.so University of Applied Sciences and Arts in Western Switzerland, in collaboration with the Tanzquartier in Vienna. The laboratory brings together a group of artists and researchers to experiment with forms of multilingual collective translation based on choreographic thinking. In this first meeting, we will move across several texts, which will be placed “in the shadow of one another”, with attention to their transindividual ways of feeling-thinking-moving, of producing critical zones of indetermination, obscuration and interrogation of common senses, positions, weights, rhythms and directions: “Bodies on the Line: Contact Improvisation and Techniques of Nonviolent Protest”, by Danielle Goldman (2007); “Which Way Is Down? Improvisations on Black Mobility”, by Jason King (2008); Sur les bouts de la langue: Traduire en féministe/s, by Noémie Grunenwald (2021); Autobiographie d’un poulpe et autres récits d’anticipation, by Vinciane Despret (2021). The lab will end with a cascade of words, which will be published in the format of a giant notebook: Grimoire #2.
