Abstract: Creation of a database on 20th and 21st Portuguese Drama, according to two thematic axes: Dictionary of Authors and Thesaurus of Plays.
The database has multilingual labels (pt / en / fr) and hosts information and materials on Portuguese drama from 1900 to the present day. The two thematic axes aim to stimulate a comprehensive knowledge about playwrights and their work. In the case of a few selected authors, bio-bibliographies in Portuguese and English will be available, as well as synopses of plays representative of their production. Fields are developed that gather database on: writed plays, publications, manuscripts and typed copies, translations, general and specific bibliographies, including in the latter several studies and documents, both analytical and critical. Notes and observations provide various clues for exploring fields related to entries about performance history, iconography, video and sound, including through useful links (such as CET databases, General Direction of Books and Libraries, RTP archive, among others). An important sample of documents in digital format complements the database, according to the authors’ rights, appearing as a supplementary stimulus for users to increase their interest about contemporary Portuguese drama.
