In connection with the National Commemorations of the Centenary of Bernardo Santareno’s birth, CET organized a series of sessions on the writer. Santareno – um autor, uma obra: cruzamentos, interrogações, desafios took place on 6th October, at the Fábrica Braço de Prata.
José Oliveira Barata, Graça dos Santos, Maria Helena Serôdio, Jorge Palinhos, Karim Himda and Sebastiana Fadda proposed analyses and crossings of themes, dramatic models and aspects of how Santareno’s work was received.
Luís Castro, founder of Karnart, talked about the creative processes regarding António Marinheiro ou o Édipo de Alfama and O Pecado de João Agonia and, during a roundtable, there was a conversation with other guest artists – Rui Mendes and Miguel Moreira – about how they see Santareno on stage today. During the sessions, Teresa Faria and Rui Pina Coelho gave dramatized readings from Bernardo Santareno’s works.
