In this session of you here you there with the history of theatre, we will have as guest speaker Professor Marcus Mota (Institute of Arts, University of Brasilia) to tell us about Richard Wagner and his various writings (prior or contemporary to the creation process of The Nibelungen Ring), where he proposes a displacement of functions from the choral activity to the orchestra. Instead of a collective on stage, with its songs and dances, Wagner proposes the construction of a flow of sonorities. The Wagnerian option contributes to the long history of rethinking the problem of the chorus in dramatic works. What to do with the Greek chorus?
