These sessions took place in Lisbon, between 4th and 8th February and were devised as a space for debate about the actor in the contemporary scene. These were four days of experimentation and reflection based on the performances of the following Portuguese and Brazilian artists:
Berta Teixeira (Portugal): 4th February, from 10 am to 5 pm.
This researcher-creator, actress and artistic director dealt with questions regarding the artist’s motivation and changes in flow during the creative process.
Helena Varvaki (Brazil): 5th February, from 10 am to 5 pm.
The actress, performance teacher and researcher worked on Connection Practice: procedures aimed at performing as a field of experimentation and, therefore, of singularity and creation.
Alex Cassal (Brazil/Portugal): 6th February, from 10 am to 5 pm.
The director, playwright, actor and member of the Brazilian group, Foguetes Maravilha proposed practices in which the “other” is seen as the element that initiates, justifies and signifies the act of performing.
Zé Luiz Rinaldi (Brazil): 7th February, from 10 am to 5 pm.
The poet, composer and director worked on experiencing the word; that is to say, investing in the possibility of the experiencing the word before it is weighed up and understood.
Tiago Porteiro (Portugal): 8th February, from 10 am to 5 pm.
The actor/performer, director and Minho University professor proposed an action-research meeting on the territories of the actor, performer and interpreter, and the problems faced by those who accept the creative challenges of these different poetic territories.
