Continuing the publication of Repertório Teatral na Lisboa Oitocentista, the opening of the Teatro Nacional D. Maria II (April 1846) is taken as the event that determines the beginning of this volume, which identifies the activity of Lisbon's so-called public theatres over a period of six and a half years (October 1852).
