CET, the Theatre Studies Programme and the Artistic Studies Degree organized three events with Didier Plassard that took place from 3rd to 6th May at FLUL.
Didier Plassard is a Full Professor of Theatre Studies at Paul Valéry Univ., Montpellier, France). His research areas include contemporary theatre and stage aesthetics, puppet theatre, avant-garde theatre, the relationship between theatre and images. He was awarded the Georges-Jamati Award for Theatre Aesthetics in 1990 for his PhD dissertation (published as L’Acteur en effigie, in 1992). Other distinctions include the Jean Cléo-Godin Award (Canada, 2006) and the Sirena d’oro at the Arrivano dal mare! Festival (Italy, 2012). In 2015, he was made Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres by the French Ministry of Culture.

The Mimesis and Representation class discussed Marionnette et intermédialité on 6th May at 9 am in Cave D at FLUL;
The Theatre Studies’ PhD seminar discussed E. G. Craig: de la marionnette à la Surmarionnette (avec de nombreux documents inédits), on 6th May at 2 pm in Room 1.26 at FLUL;
The Critical Exercises on Contemporary Culture class debated Le théâtre de mise en scène (Regietheatre ) en Allemagne on 6th May at 2 pm in Room 10.1 at FLUL.
