| In the 7th edition of the Summer School — In Practice, choreographer Ali Chahrour and Syrian singer, composer and improviser Lynn Adib propose a research centred on body and sound, considering the body as a carrier of memories, history and daily life, traversed by multiple layers of personal and collective experiences. Sonic Bodies focuses on the exploration of the quality of movement and its specificity in each body. Through exercises of presence in space and time, dance is approached not only as movement, but as a practice of listening the body of each participant. Alongside movement, sound and voice will be explored as an extension of the body and as a medium of expression. The Summer School takes place from 13 to 17 July at the Centro de Ciência Viva do Alviela (Alcanena) and is open to artists, researchers, students, and anyone interested in exploring the relationship between movement and sound. Each year, a scholarship is granted to one participant from each partner school: FLUL (Centro de Estudos de Teatro/CET), Escola Superior de Dança and ESAD.CR. Applications are open until 20 May, and all information is available in the application form and on the website napraticasummerschool.pt. |
The deadline for registrations is May 20.
