The workshop introduces the notion of a Theatre of Intensities, which is grounded in State-Based Acting, a mode of work that places the act of performing at the center of the theatre’s creative process. When we talk about acting procedures, it is easy to fall into the temptation of establishing fixed models and working methods; this workshop, however, proposes an approach to acting as a territory of crisis. One of the premises of the work will be to consider the character as an instrument of the actor’s creative experience. We will share references and practical exercises on acting technique as a construction that takes shape uniquely in each performer, because in a Theatre of Intensities, acting embraces uncertainty as the core of the experience.
