Brecht Unlocked is a seminar dedicated to the relevance of Bertolt Brecht’s work today and to the possibilities for interpreting and reinventing his legacy. Bringing together researchers, artists, lecturers and students, the event will discuss how Brechtian concepts and practices can contribute to reflection on contemporary issues, linking aesthetics, politics and society. The entry of Brecht’s works into the public domain, scheduled for January 2027, broadens the debate on circulation, translation, research and artistic creation. Held at the University of Lisbon and the Goethe-Institut Lisbon, the seminar brings together national and international perspectives, academic research and theatrical practice.
