The invisible and the inexpressible in acting, with Matteo Bonfitto

O Invisível e o Indizível na Atuação, com Matteo Bonfitto

Based on the assumption that acting processes in theatre and performance must, first of all, establish experiences of different natures, this workshop focuses on exploring practices and procedures that create conditions for experiences to materialize. In this sense, among the aspects that will get special attention in this workshop, it is worth highlighting the perhaps most complex and profound dimension of experiences, which goes beyond the limits of language and involves a dynamic articulation between the invisible and the inexpressible.

In addition to vocal, body and writing practices and procedures, this workshop will use dramaturgical and audiovisual materials as support. The objective in this case is to explore the activation of psychophysical triggers of different natures in order to produce scenic materials that seek to capture what we do not see and do not say, but which we can perceive in a powerful way. As a conclusion, a sharing of this process could happen publicly.

Directly influenced by the work of Peter Brook and Yoshi Oida, the approach proposed in this workshop has as one of its main sources the artistic collaboration established with Oida, who in 2019 directed the production of “Fim de Partida”, by Samuel Beckett.
