Session #3 | Staging Black Insurgency: Representations of Zumbi dos Palmares in Brazilian Theatre
In his presentation, Guilherme Diniz will address the following question: how has Brazilian theatre imagined the figure of Zumbi dos Palmares? The talk examines a range of theatrical representations of Zumbi in modern and contemporary Brazilian theatre, investigating the diverse—and at times competing—ways in which different dramaturgical and scenic projects have imagined, embodied, and reconfigured his presence.
