Poetry Without Poets #2 is the second edition of the laboratory for experimental collective translation and choreographic thinking, organized in the scope of the artistic research project ‘Institute of Rest(s)’ initiated by Alix Eynaudi (La Manufacture de Lausanne, Hes.so University of Applied Arts and Sciences / Western Switzerland 2023-2025), in collaboration with the series of Expanded Practices developed by Paula Caspão (Centre for Theatre Studies, 2019-2023).
In these encounters, translation practices constitute a collective mode of research and critical fabulation. Embroidering on the remains of the textures produced in the first edition of Poetry Without Poets (Tanzquartier of Vienna, February 2023), we will explore a new assemblage of texts: “Dear April: The Aesthetics of Black Miscellanea” (Katherine McKittrick, 2021); Under the Knife (Krista Franklin, 2018); Les morts à l’oeuvre (Vinciane Despret, 2023); “Plantocracy and Communism” (Harney & Moten, All Incomplete, 2021); Undrowned: black feminist lessons from marine mammals (Alexis Pauline Gumbs, 2020); a letter written by Shavangi Mariam Raj (The Funambulist: politics of space and bodies, #47 May-June 2023). The result of the lab will be presented in the format of cine-fabulation in the program Secuencia #2, at FABRA i COATS / Art Factory of Barcelona (November 4, 2023).
