DataCET

Financing Entity and Project Reference: PRR (RE-C05-i08), FCT - Foundation for Science and Technology

Principal Investigator: José Pedro Sousa

Research Unit: FLUL-CET

Funding: 15,000.00 euros

Duration: 01-05-2025 to 31-12-2025

The pilot project DataCET: a proof of concept in Linked Open Data (LOD) for a FAIR and CARE dataset (PI: José Pedro Sousa, Co-PI Marta Brites Rosa, institutional coordination by Hugo Cardoso, deputy director for Research at FLUL), is part of the macro-project iRe:Search - Centre for Interdisciplinary Research Data Management at the University of Lisbon, promoted by the Rectorate of ULisboa in the context of the National Programme for Open Science and Open Research Data, funded by the PRR.

The project aims to preserve and create new access points to the CETbase dataset, applying the FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable) and CARE (Collective Benefit, Authority to Control, Responsibility, Ethics) principles, and exploring the possibility of using Linked Open Data (LOD) technology.
DataCET aims to:

1) Applying open science practices beyond open access, namely Open Source and Open Data, and deepening the team science model in the TSC's Research Data Management work;
2) Publishing CETbase data in the FCCN's POLEN data repository, FCT - Foundation for Science and Technology digital services (https://www.fccn.pt/) and CETbase code on GitHub;
3) Documenting these processes in order to ensure the continuity of the work carried out and the sustainability of the data.

This pilot project is part of the CET's strategic commitment to the field of Digital Humanities, contributing to the integration of research data into open digital ecosystems and promoting the reuse and visibility of the CET's research in the area of data science.
