In the 5th episode of the 2nd season of Tu cá tu lá with the story of theater, we propose a reinterpretation of the debate on the nationalization of theater, which arose in the aftermath of March 11, 1975. We first seek to contextualize the quarrel within the struggle against theatrical monopolies, and then to identify the turning points that gave rise to the controversy. The analysis of the various documents we have collected allows us to observe how the initial consensus among the protagonists of this debate gradually gives way to the hardening of positions, which seems to make any compromise impossible. Fifty years later, examining the nuances between the different proposals for the nationalization and socialization of theater reveals the existence of a space for radical thought that the April Revolution opened up.
