In the 9th edition of Conversas (In)seguras (Unsafe Conversations), guest Paula Molinari will offer us a conference-concert inspired by the underwater vocal development proposals of Kozana Lucca. This is the approach the artist-researcher has been exploring to consider the voice as a pathway for human connection with all other forms of life. Advocating for vocal work as a means to contribute to an ecological transition, she acknowledges that voice and music share a common characteristic: a pre-linguistic manifestation. It is through listening to the pre-linguistic that the relational dynamics are reimagined, potentially bringing changes to our ways of living. This conference-concert will be interwoven with music by Brazilian composers—Sergio Leal, Silvio Ferraz, and Francisco Silva—who wrote specifically for her solo voice, as well as compositions by Paula Molinari herself.
Paula Molinari as an artist-researcher, she continues to explore the connection between music, creation, voice, ecology, and artistic research. She is about to publish her new book, “A voz de artista: por uma voz/via ecológica (The Artist’s Voice: For an Ecological Voice/Path)”, further deepening her contributions to these interdisciplinary fields. As a singer, she has performed concerts and performances worldwide, currently dedicating herself to creative processes for developing a solo voice repertoire. As an academic, she is a tenured Professor at the Federal University of Maranhão, in the Interdisciplinary Master’s Program in Social Dynamics, Artistic Connections, and Local Knowledge, and in the Interdisciplinary Bachelor’s Degree in Languages and Codes – Music, at the Center for Sciences of São Bernardo, Maranhão, Brazil.
