The Centre for Theatre Studies was the institution chosen by A. M. Seabra to donate the theatre books that were part of his vast and varied library. It was a touching and affectionate gesture that we won’t forget. As well as the truly astonishing discotheque and video library, this smaller nucleus revealed his interest in the performing arts, also manifested in the writings that he dedicated to opera and theatre for decades as a critic, following national and international productions. A few years ago, he was already in a weakened state, and I will remember his image (and the memory of his company) during the tour of the Rimini Protokoll show Remote Lisboa in May 2013, which began at the Olivais cemetery and ended at the vacant Hospital da Marinha. All of his critical texts deserve attention and study. Through them, the cultural geography of a country from which he always expected more will be revealed.
